Street Fighter Alpha isn’t a remake of this. Is a whole new series placed between Street Fighter 1 and Street Fighter 2.

There is a reason why it’s named like that. Reading back in Gamefan Mag, Nintendo(at that time) didn’t allow a company that were developing games for Nintendo, to develop games for another console for a set amount of time. Thus when Capcom made Street Fighter, they had to change the name to work around Nintendo’s loophole contract when they licensed it to NEC to have them publish it. Capcom wasn’t the only company that did this though.
@LargeRedRizla Street Fighter Alpha series was the overhauled remake to this.
The music is the only best thing in this area this game.
But heck, I’ve read LargeRedRizla’s note, and I reckon the Street fighter 1 remake should be called ”Street Fighter: The Excellent Edition”
